"I once had a coaching session from a senor director in the NHS. back in 2016 I didn't really have any idea why it was me that was chosen to lead on a huge piece of work across Sussex. "How did you get here?" was the central question that she stuck to for a full 45 minutes. it was gruelling - she interrupted a few times, "no, not interested in that, how did you get here?" I kept swerving the training, the learning, the natural tendencies I had in the workplace. eventually she sighed and looked a the notes she had drawn. "you have been working on this for 20 years, why are you surprised?"
In a way that is simply what this project is all about. its about a continuing line of inquiry that gets to the heart of issues and reduces the amount of "that will do for now" mentality that is in the system.
I have worked in the nexus of the Sussex and national health and social care system for 15 years. working on large scale on the Case for Change for the Sustainability and Transformation Partnership for Mental Health in Sussex reaching into all of the workstreams specifically the suicide prevention workstream.
I have had the privilege of presenting at international and national forums and delivered the Czech Republic Mental Health system on power and relationships.
